Best neighborhood in San Francisco

LadyDiNYC

Hi Everyone,

I am originally from Germany but we will move to San Francisco in the beginning of next year.
I've visited the city before but I have no idea what are the nice areas to look for a rental apartment.
So I hope you can help us with that, I would very much appreciate it.

I know that we can't have it all, but I will write down what we would ideally have in the area:

- nice rental apartments
- quiet, safe and clean neighborhood
- shops, cafes and restaurants
- people from 30 and up (no offense, but not the party crowd)
- good public transport
- maybe a park close by (I like to run in the mornings)
- baby-friendly

Thank you so much in advance, we are happy about every idea!

Hello !

It is the perfect description of my neighborhood: Pacific Heights.
Safe, clean, very European, all 30+ quality people, a lot of parks, cafes, restaurants, shops, amazing views.
If you can afford it, you will enjoy.

San Francisco has many affordable residential areas that fit your criteria. Residential neighborhoods North of Golden Gate Park are the Inner, Mid and Outer Richmond. Neighborhoods South of the Park are the inner, Mid and Outer Sunset. Pacific Heights is nice but pricey. Glen Park and Noe Valley are also nice areas. I would suggest contacting Property Management Companies who provide vacancy listings. I also think parts of the Western Addition meet your requirements. I hope this helps. Best wishes...

I always found the Panhandle (at the East end of Golden Gate Park) to be ideal.
