When you're in Sydney, you won't have a problem looking for your fellowmen. You can see them roaming around the place and bloody greet each other like you've known each other for quite a long time. Australians are historically linked to British people, the language are almost alike including slangs and accent. So that's a plus for you both. Do you know that Australia is a multicultural country? So, don't be surprised if you see like Chinese, Greek, Filipino, Korean people shopping in the mall. I suggest you start practising to drop the common expression like "Oh my God, they're speaking mandarin!".
