Hi I am Carmen Weerasinghe from Sri Lanak!
I have worked in the Development sector for ten years in the capacity of a Programme Assistant
and a Programme Officer. During those years I have excelled in a broad range of administrative
tasks from preparation of contracts and agreements; maintenance of grant files and administrative
files; coordination of program logistics including workshops, meetings and conferences with
government and local organizations; liaising with printers and printing of program publications;
drafting routine correspondence, responding to letters of request and setting up meeting
appointments with project partners. A large focus of my work as a Programme Assistant was on
liaising with community level project partners in the preparation of program and project
documents, budgets and reports.
As a Programme Officer, I have provided greater input into project implementation which includes
initiating capacity building and training activities for partner and project beneficiaries; support to
the drafting of progress reports and annual reports to the donors; drafting programme highlights
for project website and related publications; assisting the team on the implementation of the Seed
Grants; coordinating implementation of Private Public Dialogues (PPDs) and working with the
partner community based organizations to implement project activities in the Eastern Province,
particularly through what has been a challenging period due to the pandemic.
I have the desire for learning and developing my expertise, both academically and professionally. I
am a competent person who cares about my colleagues and co-workers and a good team player. I
approach my work in a thoughtful and calm manner, which are valued attributes during challenging
times.
I have plans to move to Australia for a better future with my family. I hope my experience in the non profit sector will be a great asset for the Government of Australia.

I am based in Perth, WA after moving here in 2019 from Nigeria. I have bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as substantial work experience. I currently have an ABN with which I offer virtual assistance services and do have previous work experiences in government, NGOs, and the private sector. I am proficient in using MS office products; have good data entry abilities, and data analysis skills; have good soft skills, particularly in communication and time management; and can prepare high-quality reports and presentations. I have completed several jobs working from home and it is absolutely fantastic.
