Visa application advice

LDonnelly

Hi my name is Lynn and me and my family are hoping to apply for an independent skilled 175 visa which we make the pass mark for.

We were just about to press the button on the process when we realised we may be refused on the grounds my 9 year old son has Down's syndrome. He has no underlying medical problems, but I understand this doesn't get taken into account.

My question is to any successful families out there who were in the same situation and have been successful?

Any advice or guidance on this subject would be very much appreciated.

Look forward to hearing from you

Lynn

Hi Lynn,
As the independent skilled visa grants Permanent Residency, you and your family would be eligible for Medicare straight away, as I'm sure you know. The govenment's concern would be that your son would be a drain on the system. If you can show that he won't be - in good health, not at the dr's all the time- it would really help your case.
I am not a migration agent, and it might pay for you to consult with one.
Hope this helps!
