Hi all,

What do you think about the means of transportation in Sydney ?

Is the network of means of transportation well developed?
What modes of transport are available?

Do you use them?

How much is a fare?

Are they relatively safe?

What is the mean of transportation you use the most in Sydney?

Thanks in advance for participating!

Buses and trains, and they're ridiculously expensive!

Hey mate, check out the website 131500.com.au it shows you all the fares for bus, train and ferry in Sydney. Public transport is pretty expensive and never reliable on most lines especially during peak hour (work times)

But, it depends on where you are going and what you are planning on doing.

Most buses in Sydney are now pre-paid so you have to buy your ticket at a 7/11 store or newsagency.

You can also buy a Zone 1 / 2 / 3 train ticket which works on the bus too.

The light rail is not included in the public transportation in sydney because it's privately owned and so it costs much more than train or bus.

Taxi drivers aren't very reliable, but people in sydney are pretty friendly...so asking for directions is generally easy.

good luck :-)

Public transportation was too bad until 2010 but now it's good but not best.
