Work Visa - Partner of a worker

dkalyan

Hi All,

My wife had received 'Specific Purpose Work Visa', while I have got 'Work Visa - Partner of a worker' for 2 years.

However, there's a delay in my wife's organization to send her on site to NZ and was wondering if I can travel alone first to set things up in NZ before my wife can travel in 4-6 weeks.

Would there be an immigration issue since the main applicant - my wife (specific work visa) is not accompanying me (partner work visa)?

It would be a problem as you have stated in your post.

You need to accompany your wife,

If you hold a visa, there is no issue with you travelling without your wife. I've never seen a visa, other than during lockdown, that requires travel with the partner. While your visa is based on her employment, a job I assume she still holds (but has not started working in yet), your visa should not require you to travel with her.

@Arran Hunt thank you
