Housing on Tinian

19liamreynolds02

Hello

I am a student pilot in Michigan and I was interested in moving to the Mariana Islands once I finish my training. I am having a lot of difficulty looking for housing on the islands, particularly for Tinian, google seems to come up with almost no results when looking for housing on the islands past a few hotels and the apartments I could find had no phone number or website tied to them. Is there anywhere I can look to find housing on Tinian or does anyone have any information on renting long term homes in general?

hello and welcome on board !

Please note that this forum is not so active. I would suggest that you contact the nearest embassy and perhaps post an advert in the housing section for better visibility.

All the best

I used to live there, and I can tell you that Tinian is a very small placeabout 2,000 people, give or take. Its a tight-knit community, and it's one of those places where you kind of have to know someone to find a place to live. The population might be growing now since the military is starting to use it as a training ground.

Tinian is only a 7-10 minute flight from Saipan, depending on the weather. For now, I recommend booking a short-term stay at a hotel in Saipan until you get to Tinian. Once you're there, Id suggest asking the landing crew, the staff at the airport desk, or even the airport officers (the place is really small) about accommodations. Theyll likely be able to help you get in touch with someone who can assist with finding a place to stay.

Tinian is extremely smalleveryone knows everyone, so it's pretty easy to get connected. It's a laid-back island, and if you immerse yourself in the local culture, youll definitely enjoy your time there. Just make sure to stay safe, and dont eat too many peppers at the Pika Festival!

Best of luck with everything!

Take care,

ps I ll try and get a hold of some contacts and give you more info
