May be offered a job in Vanuatu but have some concerns

ChuckEB

Hello!  I'm so glad to have found all of you.  I have made it to the second stage in the selection process for a position at Vate Ocean Garden fish farm.  The posting says the farm is in Lake Otas where there is no electricity.  In addition the workers there now live in corrugated metal shacks and converted ship containers.  It is suggested that whomever is hired build their own house on the property with materials provided by the company.  The house will have to be run on wind and solar.

Now, my questions are three:  Does anyone know of this company and fish farm?  Are they reputable? And, finally, what would it be like living near lake Otas and being off the grid?????

Thanks so much in advance,
ChuckEB

Hi ChuckEB,
Just been here barely 2 months.
I maybe able to help you a little.
As to your firsf Q, yes, Vate has lots of companies here.
Some of my acquiantances work in those companies.
As to your last Q, sorry, i'm only confined in PortVila. No idea about lake Otas.
