Considering a move to Natal (Rio Grande de Norte)

bcummins

Recent retiree from Toronto Canada, considering a move to Natal (Rio Grande de Norte). Just wondering if anyone has feedback on that area, and can comment on biggest adjustment moving from Canada or U.S.

*I enjoy playing Golf and Pickleball, but, I don't see to much of those activities offered around Natal, if anyone has info. I would like to hear back.

Cheers, Brendan

@bcummins, welcome to the forum.

Natal is a nice and warm place in the North East - very different from Toronto. I know that there are active members on the forum nearby.....

A general question that members tend to be curious about - why Natal and not somewhere else in Brazil? A short response will allow members to know what kind of feedback to give you.

Again, welcome.

If you fancy golf as I do, then Natal might not be your cup of coffee.

Although, I digress, Americans have been making headways out there, so I'v e been told.

You sure fire bet to get a foursome is to spot for Koreans in Brazil. Whenever they gather, Golf is a must have.

Here's the "Brazilian equivalent of the PGA.....

Sao Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Parana, and Rio de Janeiro have the most golf courses in the country, The rest, you have to beg your way through to play in some pricey resort.

@bcummins, If there is a good group of golfers, I would like to pick up the activity again. In full disclosure, the last time that my clubs met the greens was when I was still in Vancouver when I was schmoozing with the management group at Telus.... And that was a long time ago. Now, I am more into the social action around the 9th hole.

BTW, my timid first steps in Brazil are currently on the island of Itamaraca in PE in case you want to swing by. If there is a serious enough group, then a tour of the places that @sprealestatebroker is mentioning would be something grand.

Again welcome to the Brazil forum.

Been to Natal several times. It's a nice place, but you really need a good reason to want to live there IMHO.

I don't golf FWIW.
