Hello Mohsin,

It is extremely difficult for citizens of Pakistan and India to obtain even Tourist Visas for Brazil. It appears that the requirements for citizens of those two countries are much more rigorous than for countries in Europe, North America and even many African countries. (Please see the link below for information specific to Pakistan)

You will probably have to copy the text into Google Translator to understand most of it, but you will soon see how difficult it is.

Unfortunately it appears that the Brazilian government looks at many people from developing nations as posing a risk of staying in the country after their visa expires, so they make it very hard to get. It's not very fair, but that's the way it is. Sorry to tell you.

Cheers,

Hello, MohsinKazmi.

I don't know about which specific countries are in a kind of special relations list that Brazil will freely let immigrate (like EU has that "friend nations" list).

BUT, from my experience here as a citizen, I know we have a lot of people from Siria and Lebanon. That is a historical relation that Brazil has with those countries. We even have squares and avenues in homage to those countries, and I heard that it is reciprocal over there.

So, if you have friends, family or a community here, be sure you will be VERY WELCOME. Brazil is open to all cultures.

If you come to Brazil, just have in mind that here freedom is very open, specially in religious matters, but regarding the power and government it is very corrupt. We have a very young democracy.

Our people is very open but very selfish and a lot of us are corrupt. You will have to have in mind that being "different" is normal to everyone who insist on being correct in all times. But, by my own experience it is worth being serious and committed here, specially if you plan to keep on studying. By the way, this is the field that we find most serious and committed people here and the best entrance door, in my opinion.

All the best!
