(CREA) Brazilian Architecture licence with an American College Degree

ricardo80202

I have an accredited Master degree in Architecture from the University of Colorado.  I want to start the process of acquiring the Brazilian professional architectural licence with (CREA-RJ).  Does anyone out there have been through the process and can share some advice?  I had a 3.5 years Master degree with a 4 year unrelated undergraduate degree. They have been validated by the Brazilian Consulate in Houston. I believe the next step is to have the curriculum validated by a Brazilian University or the Department of Education but I am not sure how to handle this next step.

Thank you

Ricardo

Let me see if I understood... Do you have a degree in Architecture? Or do you have a degree in something else with a Master´s Degreee in Architecture?

If you have the Architecture degree you will have to translate everything (Diploma and Programm) to Portuguese (official), get all the stamps necessary, included one from a Brazilian Consulate.

If I´m not wrong, you should be a brazilian resident in order to apply for a validation of your american curriculum in a Brazilian University, the process is very long, it might take 2 years...

I did the opposite process, having my degree validated in Spain and it was a nightmare...

Cheers!
