Fidelity (fidelity.com.br) didn't respond to you?  That's surprising, and not like them at all.

My Brazilian husband teaches Portuguese and English and also does translations for law firms here.

Is your husband a "Tradutor Juramentado" who meets the requirements of Brazilian law for acceptance of translated documents by government agencies, i.e., passed a public examination  ("concurso") and authorized by the Junta Comercial of a Brazilian state or the Federal District?

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, I sent an email to Fidelity also. I again sent another today, using their website. Also, after I get this step done, do you recommend I mail the application with attached documents or send application only via email? Thanks.

Do you know the costs?
Some documents can be attached to the application. ( they probably ask for them for an estimate.)
Wait until you and the company agree to a price and what can be sent electronically and what can't. Also timing due to COVID.
I do not recall sending anything to them via mail/ I  always scanned and attached to form or follow up requests. They include return documents in their price.

In "Normal times" I would just go to the PF's office and wait until my number called. Just need to see procedures when you are ready.

If it is a document, you will need a certified and licensed translator.  No such a thing is "my husband does translations for so and so...."   

It is a racket, I honestly think I could do a better job than most of these mooks, but it is what it is.   

No going through Uncle Buck, or Cousin Zeke.   

Locate on, take your docs to them for translation and rubber stamping, and get charged an arm and a leg for it.   

That's the way it works.

I used EP traduções here in Brazil. It took about a week. Digitally signed and was accepted by Polícia Federal.

Is it ever!  Here in Amazonas, the exam to qualify new Sworn Translators hasn't been given in almost thirty years.  Until online translation agencies became available, the two senior citizens I'm aware of had a monopoly, for all practical purposes.
