Hello,

Do any °µÍø½ûÇøs live in the coffee region...specifically the Pereira/Cartago area?  My wife (Colombian) and I will be relocating to Cartago.

Hi JC, welcome to the forum!

I'm responding to your post as I don't see any response, so for what it is worth here is my experience with Cartago:

Yes certainly the area has a "growing number" of °µÍø½ûÇøs (primarily nearby Armenia, Pereria and across Quindio region) so you should be able to find a few °µÍø½ûÇøs in Cartago although I don't personally know of any.

Does your Colombian wife have family there?

Now I live an hour north of Medellin (coming up to 15 years) but travel everywhere in the all Colombia, almost nonstop in my car on road trips and was just in Cartago two weeks back on a drive from Medellin to Cali then after a few days returned. I have only spent a night as I used Cartago and a stop over so have never explored it properly.

Two weeks back I did explore Roldanillo just south of Cartago and enjoyed my visit then continued down into Cali a city where I visit friends and coming to for about 9 years. This is the Valle de Cauca region, have you visited before?

To each his own but I am curios as to what is your draw to Cartago?

Lets see if any °µÍø½ûÇøs who live in Cartago respond and chime in.

Godspeed!

@coscia16

Cartago isnt in the Eje.

Its in the Valle de Cauca.

Hot ugly and not the safest place.

@ nico peligro - "hot and ugly" for which reasons I ask to the OP in my post above three leading questions:

** Does your Colombian wife have family there?

** This is the Valle de Cauca region, have you visited before?

** To each his own but I am curios as to what is your draw to Cartago?

And true that Cartago is located at the most extreme north end of the Valle de Cauca with Armenia/Quindio a quick drive away even Pereira/Risaralda there is a growing °µÍø½ûÇø community.

Well at least the OP is not considering Buenaventura, also located in Valle de Cauca region.
