I’m planing to move to Ecuador. Can I bring a car and if so in what value and engine type. Also can I ship a classic car if so how do I find the value.

Most people find that the costs of importing any car, classic or not, into Ecuador is problematical because the import tax can be up to 100%.  And the base value is determined by customs, not you. SENAE is the controlling authority in Ecuador for imports (Servicio Nacional de Aduana del Ecuador).

But if you have Ecuadorian citizenship you may be able to take advantage of the rule that allows Ecuadorians returning to live in Ecuador after living abroad, to bring in their menaje de casa which means your household goods including a car or motorcycle - but the car, unless it's a classic, must be under a certain value (again, the value determined by SENAE) and under a certain engine size.  A newspaper article indicates the car must be no more than 4 years old and the value be no more than $36,000 (actually, no more than 80 SBUs, the Salario Básico Mínimo which for 2023 is $450/month).

Do a search on this site for more details, for instance, searching for  import vehicle  in the Ecuador forum:

Simple answer, no  (although some wiggle room, but unless you are Ecuadorian doesn't apply to

Absolutely no. There is no concept of classic car. The very strict importing of vehicles that is allowed, is new cars only.
