Can a foreigner take the driving test in Suriname?

What are the formalities to get a driver聮s licence in Suriname?

Hi,

If you are staying for a long time, you need to apply to get a permission to drive in Suriname.聽 You need to pay SRD150, at a government office (CBB) and then you go with the receipt to the police in New Haven, close to town with a copy of your licence from your country, copy of your passport (first page and the page showing your permit to stay), and then you pay SRD5, and collect the permission after 5 working days.聽 The permission is valid for 1 year, to renew you pay SRD100.

The prices have changed. To extend your permission, you now need to pay 350 SRD and wait for two months. In the meantime, you are allowed to drive, but make sure to keep proof of your extension with your permission at all times.
