cheap accommodation for one person

Hi every one ,
I am live and work in Brunei in one of prestigious hospital as doctor.
I am coming alone to Uruguay in May 2015 first time for 4聽 weeks.
any body advise me regarding reasonable and cheap accommodation for one person, and which city is batter to live. I can not speak or understand Spanish,聽 is English is enough for survive.
help is highly appreciated.

Check airbnb for accommodations - mostly in Montevideo. I would start there, most of the population lives there and in May many other places are very quiet as all the tourists have gone.
