QC here means "quickly completed" :) Read More

I don't know if it's funny or sad that someone like rustyjarz would call out a guy with EOD in the front of his name for not "keeping it real enough". Not many jobs more hazardous or real than explosive ordnance disposal, if that ... Read More

Ralphnhatrang - FYI, I tried to buy Dipolac today but the box stated it also has an antibiotic (gentamicin) in it. Went ahead and bought the Canesten which is just 1% clotrimazole. Should keep the critters at bay when I go to the gym and shower ... Read More

Ralph - Thanks, I eventually found Canesten (1% Clotrimazole) on my own but those others sound even better. Read More

Anti-fungals are also somewhat difficult to find. It's easy to get a fungal infection here with all of the sweating and high humidity so pre-treating isn't a bad idea. Read More

The other day while riding my bicycle I thought someone had thrown a handful of sand at my face as a prank, and then I realized it was just a cloud of midges so dense it looked like smoke. So now I wear a face mask near dusk as well as my ... Read More

Some kind of borax-based ant bait/killer, although I bought borax at the local market and made my own with sugar. A rechargeable or 220v bug zapper, the kind with the blue light. I dream of the day when I can unleash megawatts of hell on the flies ... Read More

Airport parking by cgtheisen
Ok, probably a foolish question for so many reasons, but I live in Hoi An and was thinking of how convenient it would be to park at the airport instead of taking a $50 cab round trip on my next journey out of town. Has anyone done this? My ...

Incidentally, we figured out that you can call the taxi company in Hoi An from the airport and ask if they have any cabbies that need to make the return trip. We waited about 10 minutes for one and got back to Hoi An for about $10-12 in a ... Read More

Laundry question by cgtheisen
Ok, so I'm hoping someone has figured this out already. My nice new tailored white linen shirts are getting yellowish brown stains (horrible looking) all around the collars and cuffs due to sunscreen stains. I looked online and western nation ...

Update: After 24 hours of soaking one shirt in a 3/2 vinegar/water mix and 12 hours of soaking another in dish soap/water: (Out of 10, with 0 being no difference and 10 being completely clean) Vinegar - 4 (stains diminished somewhat) Dish soap - 7 ... Read More

What is up with Vietnamese children??? by cgtheisen
Ok, so I come to live here in Hoi An with my Vietnamese wife, hearing stories about how strictly she was raised and how kids had to be well-behaved. Since I've been in Vietnam I've had a total of more than half a dozen small kids throwing ...

One thing I learned walking across Harlem 3-4 times a week though trial and error was to wear a suit and a high quality hat. Never had the tiniest bit of trouble there dressed that way. Talked with some friends from that area about my hypothesis and ... Read More

Where can i buy E Cigs in Da Nang? by GuestPoster99
Hi guys! I just arrived in Da Nang and am searching for an electronic cigarette supplier. My battery and charger broke on the flight here. Any help is appreciated!!

Only semi-related but could save you some hassle--I'm getting ready to go to Singapore for a few days and looking up their prohibited items I see not only chewing gum but e-cigs and smokeless tobacco. So if ya decide to take up one of those ... Read More

The last incident was on my street and I don't need to "defecate where I eat" so to speak. I'm believing now that the grandfather may be a bit on the dementia side of things, so that explains his reaction. My wife recommends (from ... Read More
