Stand Up Paddle Kuwait by socal434

I have tried a quick Google search but didn't get results. Is SUP a popular sport there? Is there any shops? I have a board and want to bring it with me if I won't be able to purchase one for a good price there.

socal434

Jet skis are always buzzing me when I go out. They never to close but I think they are just curious because I never see any other boards out there. Read More

Living in a Hotel by socal434

There is a job opening that will be coming up in the future that will be an excellent career move for me but I may be stuck living in a hotel for awhile while waiting for a compound to open up for my company. It won't be so bad being in the hotel ...

socal434

I figured that would be the case. I live in Kuwait now and it is a little strict with the dress and socializing rules in public and at public beaches but at the hotels the women can wear bikinis and talk to whoever they want. I guess I will be ... Read More

The American Embassy does happy hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays from around 5 until about 9. It's a pretty good time but you have to be escorted in by someone with a pass to the embassy. My wife told me the Hungarian Embassy will have a wine ... Read More

Co-Op in Kuwait by socal434

I went by the Co-Op in Fintas to check it out and it looked like an abandoned building. I have heard that the Co-Ops have really good prices in order to cause competition for Lu-Lus and Sultan Center but are there nice ones around the Fintas to ...

socal434

The Fintas co-op is not cheaper than Lu&Lu, I would suggest exiting on 208 and shopping at Lu&Lu as they have a lot more Western products than other stores.Lu-Lu's is where I have normally been shopping. I like all the produce they have there. Read More

The other side of the Kuwaiti postcard by Julien

Hi, As a tourist in a foreign country, very often, we are enchanted with what we discover. Living abroad is different. It's a rich experience but there are also some difficulties to face. When people ask me for advice on living abroad, I ...

I'm still pretty new here but I do enjoy the driving and how you can just park pretty much anywhere with out worrying about getting parking tickets. A lot less bullshit to deal with than the US. On the other hand food can be very expensive here so ... Read More
