can anyone help?????

hopelesslylostlol

Hi, i am really struggling to get any information at all with regards to work permits and visas for Egypt.

My fiancee is starting a teaching position in Giza in August so her school will be taking care of her work permit and visa, whereas i shall be finding work upon my arrival.
I have several possibilities from employment agencies in the area, but i will not be able to secure a position until i have arrived in the country.
As far as i can work out at the moment i shall have to arrive on a multi-stay visa which will allow me up to 90 days in Egypt and have read that the application for a work permit can be a very lengthy process and have even seen that it can take up to a year to sort out, does anyone know if when i am there if i have secured a position at a company will the Egyptian government extend my visa whilst my work permit would be getting processed or would i have to come home and wait????

ANY HELP OR ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED :)

i have even tried to contact the Egyptian consulate in london but cant even get a reply from them :(

Hi!
The work permit in Egypt is a mysterious thing, something like Nessy or Martians :D no one did ever see them :D
No, seriously, if you want to obtain a work permit you got to get the job FIRST. Your employer has to apply for your work permit and will direct you which papers are required.
Despite of the difficulties to get it I would strongly advise not to work without permission. Recently african and asian maids have been detained for working without. In Hurghada hotels have been raided for illegal workers. A lot of teachers are working without permit, too, and are afraid they will be next.
Nevertheless... Welcome to Egypt!
