Accommodation in Tamarin

Hi,

We are planning to come to Mauritius for 3, hopefully 4 months from february on. We, that is: my son Viggo (5), my girlfriend Heidi and myself. And since we fell in love with the beautifull bay and people of Tamarin, we would like to find a house/apartment there. Something simple, for a good price. Preferably close to the sea. Does anyone know someone who rents something like that?

There are a number of agencies in the Tamarin area. Having lived in Tamarin for 12 months now, i would suggest that you take temporary accommodation first for a month or two which will give you time to look around. there are vast differences in style and standard, mostly depending on how much you are prepared to pay for rent. obviously something close to the sea, especially right on the shore, demands a premium. There are apartments in La Preneuse very close to the public beach, but i don't know the prices for them.
the advantage of an agency is that if you have a problem with your accommodation you can ask them to sort it out as it can be a very very time consuming and frustrating excercise to get something fixed.
