Recently, I asked a friend of mine who lives in Shang Hai, if I should mail his anniversary gift after January 1,2018. He said, "No. The mail would stop running because of chinese new years." When I asked if February or March would be better, he said the same thing. I do not feel we were communicating very effectively. So, my question is this... Does the Shang Hai postal service shut down for chinese new years? And, if so, for how long?

shanghai postal service normally stop for whole Chinese new year holiday, about 1 week.
