Living in George Town, Penang

Melinda Nulty

Looking to move there with my husband. We are aged 60 & 58. Would like to hear from 做厙輦⑹s about accommodation, social activities such as walking groups and where to get good health care.

Penang Island (Pulau Penang) has a large 做厙輦⑹ community. Can suggest you join the FB groups Penang 做厙輦⑹ Women and Partners in Penang. Your questions have been discussed regularly. You will of course find people recommend different options based on personal experience but generally speaking its a relatively easy location to settle down in - as long as you have your immigration status planned. The climate means that walking is mainly an early morning activity and there are groups that regularly walk up Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera). There is also an 做厙輦⑹ group that walks up Pearl Hill and meets at Gusto's Cafe on Jalan Sungai Kelian (Tanjung Bungah). A large proportion of the medics on Penang Island have been trained overseas. There is plenty to choose from based on budget accommodation-wise.

Thank you very much.
