Ivo sonnenberg

Hello there, i am Ivo an old piece of iron. In 3 months or so i go back to the Phillipines to retire for good. undo on paper i am not retired yet. I know the country well i have lived there 4 years in a row before.

Wenn i went before i was just chasing woman basicly and having fun. This time it will be different. I am planning to fight poverty and the rising waters. i am gonna do good this time around. Its a rough country but i am a rough guy, its just my place. I will get myself a retirement visa in time to not have hassle with going abroad reguarly.

I know a lot of things about the Phillipinian ways, culture, woman, men, and what to do and what not. There are many things i could tell you. I give you a free one. Dont go there if you are looking for love. You wont find it. Its all about money there, but thats not different as in Switserland were i live now, undo i was born in the Netherlands. But i have French blood American Native blood and even some Arabic. It all does make me look like a Filipino, well a tall one.

I picked up some tagalog wenn living there, i can recomment doing that, specialy if you like rural areas. Look at the eyes of the people, they talk with the movement of their eyes and eybrows. Its a language in its self. Now you know it, look for it and learn to learn that language to.

It is verry helpfull if you want them to appriciate you. if i see you guys there, i will smile while passing by..

Ivo,

You seem to have a somewhat jaded opinion of Filipina women. I've lived here for some 24 years now and don't share your opinion on " not being able to find love in the Philippines ".  I was married to a wonderful Filipina for 50 years. When she passed last year I met another great Filipina lady and she will be my partner for life. Quit chasing girls and really get to know one and their family.

@ERL369 I was in Tacloban, i loved it there, specialy how the jeepneys go around town and bring you everywere. Great system. Nice people there  had a lot to endure. Verry ressiliant. Build it all up again. The trees in the city were all verry small cause the bigger ones were gone with the storm. Loved it there got me a nice tattoo there. One of the rare cities in the Philippines were the massage salons also offer more as massage alone. But true as you say some guys get lucky and find a good woman. i am happy for you that you did. But that are only a few. Most wont. Most you find are foreigners with bad experiances. Sitting around in bars telling their stories how things went wrong, they at the end lost their wifes, children, monney, the house they build, and everything they had while their wifes are living with a Filipino guy now. Offen they already had while having a relationship with the foreigner. They seem to have no rights at all and no monney to secure those rights if they have them. Offen they dont even have the monney to go back home, asking me for a loan. Sitting on the sidewalk being misserable. I buy them a red horse and thats it. Realy you are lucky to find a woman interested in more as monney alone. At laest thats how i experienced it all. But cheers to all lucky guys.

I also don't agree with it. I am living here in Boracay with my Filipina wife for 6.5 years now. We have a great relation. Much better than my 16 years with an European woman.

hi Ivo, it is great that you are coming back to the Philippines with a desire to do good. There are many needs here in the Philippines, although I get dishearted sometimes for trying to help people, when I see that they are not able to make the best judgements even for themselves. They are unable to save money for a start. Sometimes the money goes to instant gratifications like beer and drugs, sometimes to demanding relatives. I can only say that I am still trying to help some of them, but I need to be more mindful of their weaknesses while helping them, and I am doing it mostly to make myself feel valuable to society, hahaha. It is not easy even just to do good, I will say.

Ivo sonnenberg

@yiqipo Yes you are right. Its my desire to do good, but if it will always work out, thats another ballgame. But i did it before and some of it landed good. But like you say a lot of it lands on drugs on booze occasionaly, well just be carefull in who you invest. But on the other hand i helped people with like a hundred bucks or something. And with that they pulled themselves out of the mess their lives were in, thats so rewarding to see. Just never give up hope, than all is lost.

Ivo sonnenberg

@Andy_1963 well thats great, i am happy for you. I know some guys have good experiances, i am not one of them. I had bad ones, and i thought to be smart enough to forsee them, as it turned out i just was not. But i am greatfull for any person who finds love and luck in lfe.
