S&R and Landers online shopping

Enzyte Bob

The last time I was out of house was a month ago at S&R. Hired a private car for round trip to S&R for 1,000 php.

I spent about 15,000 php which is normal for us. Since the virus started I'm using plastic. I paid my bill with BoA credit card no problem.

Next time I shopped online (S&R) and ordered about 18,000 php. The BoA card was rejected and I had to call BoA fraud hotline number to have  the purchase approved . Now when ordering online they have time slots, BoA approved in several minutes including phone call and I got an open slot. I live in Pasig and I have a OOMA TELO with my stateside number, phone works as if I'm in the states, handy when you have to make a call to the states, like this time. (I used my OOMA TELO in the states and brought with me, v.o.i.p)

Well delivery was about 10 days later, over Easter holiday. About half the order was filled and they revised the charge to the proper amount.

We then decided to order the missing stuff from Landers. Now with Landers the time slots available is only for the next four days. You place your order, then you select your time lot, but all the time slots are always filled up, day after day. So my stepson suggested we do it one minute after midnight, when the leading day is removed and a new day is added at the end. Well BoA again wanted a phone call to verify, by the time they verified, the time slots was filled up. So again we repeated it all over the next night at midnight using a different card and it went straight through and we got a delivery time slot.

We got delivery in 6 days, we ordered about 10,000 php and they revised it down because of five items out of stock.

So if you want to order from Landers for home delivery, do it at the stroke of midnight and have several cards handy in case your bank thinks your overseas charge is fraudulent so you can use another card.

Now my wife orders some food stuff from a small business and we pay cash. Also for some stuff our Maid goes to the market close by several times a week.

Since the whole family is home, the kids off their job, we go through a lot of food, tonight we are having nachos. Tomorrow Korean Beef.

The bank was also non-cooperative today.  Usually I write a check to my wife and she deposits it into her BDO dollar account for a $5 charge and the dollars are available 30 days later.  Today they said that since there is no courier service they are not accepting any out of town checks
We needed passes to go to Vigan and all seemed OK until we got to the market.  In Santa people from our barangay were only allowed to go to the market from 6AM until noon on Wednesday.  Next Wednesday we have the noon to 6PM shift.  In Vigan they said we needed a pass which specifically said Vigan Farmer's Market.  And the barangay captain had put yesterday's date on the passes, so we were denied entrance to the market.  I needed blood pressure pills, and the same ones which were 3 pesos each cost me 10 pesos each this time.  Did not bother to go shopping around.
We were also told we can only go to Vigan twice a week, so next week we will be trying to send money from the USA via  Western Union.

Try using TransferWise . . .  .Instead of WU. You can set it up from your home desktop or smart phone.
They debit the account in the states and deposit it in BDO. You cannot transfer dollars to dollars, but dollars to pesos. Cheaper than WU, takes only several hours.

May I know which website did you order S&R from? Their website does not seem to have options for online shopping. I do have membership card.

My stepson handled it, when he wakes up, I'll have him respond.

I use transferwise to send either USD to Peso or USD to USD.  I have both types of accounts in my Bank of Commerce in the Philippines.  With transferwise I set up a boarderless account with three accounts in it, A USD, a Peso and a Thai Baht.  The money goes into my transferwise USD account and then i can convert the USDs to either Philippine Peso or Thai Baht.  Conversion is nearly instantaneous.  At that point I can transfer to any account.  I think there might be a stipulation when transferring USD to USD about the method of transferring.
