How do you all file tax in SG?

RobertFisher

Every year IRAS sends me a notice saying my company "has filed tax for me, the tax amount is XXX" and I just pay the stated amount.

But I am wondering, what if I have some deduction?  I do have kids back home; am I entitled to some deduction?  Have my company and IRAS taken all my deductions into consideration?  I kind of doubt it because how can they know?

How should I check what's in my SG tax filing?

You can check online on IRAS website --> myTaxPortal. Login using SingPass. You should get deduction for spouse and child. Also for life insurance premium and provident fund or SRS if you have made any contributions.

The tax rules in Singapore are very simple. In almost all cases your employer can do it correctly.
You are only entitled for deductions for kids living with you in Singapore.
