Import duty on kiting equipment

Hi all

I am moving to HCMC in 2 weeks and have got a few problems with my luggage;

does anyone know if i will have to pay import duty on my kites i
f i send them to HCMC with DHL?

I am really struggeling with the airline and so need another way to avoid the 拢1500 excess baggage they want to chanrge on top of my suitcase.

I ahve also heard that they are classed as flying objects and so i need a license. Does any have any handy tips or advice? has anyone done anything similar?

Hi Nick I can't help answer your question but I would google Mui Ne for kite-surfing. There are a couple of clubs and associations based out there. I'm sure one of them would be able to advise you.

Hopefully that's pointed you in the right direction if no one else on here can help.
