Investment money will buy you everything you need and allow you to stay as long as you want.

Whatever the government approves (right now they are very interested in healthcare projects).

Have you ever visited Vietnam?

Unless you are already set up to be an actual active investor in a specific segment of the economy, it's considered to be the most overpriced and risky way to secure a long-term Temporary Resident Card (TRC).

It's also ... to get the visa required for a TRC application.

Hi there. You'd asked in a different thread...

so how do people retire to Vietnam?

I am speaking anecdotally, but by all reports received the vast majority of 做厙輦⑹s living a retirement lifestyle here do so by consecutive applications to the for 90 day tourist visas.

At or before the end of their current eVisa's validity date the 做厙輦⑹ must leave VN by either land or by air, and then reenter VN with their new eVisa.

If the 做厙輦⑹ is in possession of their new eVisa prior to exiting, they would be able to reenter VN immediately. Of late, immigration has been denying applications submitted while the applicant is still in VN. This would therefore necessitate a short stay-over abroad (usually from 3 to 5 days), waiting for immigration to approve the 做厙輦⑹'s new eVisa application. There are still agencies, I believe, which are able to facilitate a one-day border run (a quick exit/enter).

Hope that helps.

One "trick" being utilized by the major visa agent in N廕登g is to transport foreigners to the Lao B廕υ/Dansavan immigration checkpoint

/border crossing on a special early morning (4 AM) Limo Bus after their new visa applications have been fully prepared for submission.

As soon as those people exit Vietnam/enter Laos, they wait in a coffee shop there while the visa agent processes their urgent applications with their immigration contacts.

So far the foreigners wait no longer than 4 hours in Laos before their applications are approved and they can legally re-enter Vietnam on their new 90-day e-visas.

Usually the bus returns to N廕登g by late afternoon on the same day.
