Visa extensions

Can anyone enlighten me as to the rules regarding visa extension.I have a 5 year marriage exemption visa,which according to the local immigration office here in Nha Trang. I get a 6 month visa when I arrive ,then an extension of 6 more months.After which I have to leave country and return Because of the virus this is not possible.So they will give me either 6 month extension for 125 USD or 3 month at 35 USD.These are tourist visa prices as it usually just cost 10 USD. Are the authorities only giving tourist visa extensions ?.

I just went though this.聽 See this thread.聽 Ciambella set me straight.

And while they are higher than they charged Ciambella and I聽 they aren't anywhere near tourist prices.聽 Tourists are paying $250-300 for three month extensions nowadays.

Thanks for your prompt reply it seems we are in the same boat 35 USD instead of 10 USD for 3 months. Next time they said 35+ 10 for another 3 months. Still less than 125 USD for聽 6 months.
