Veggies are also grown in Belize and widely available at markets (stores are not the best sources of produce), but there should be no problems in growing your own, other than, perhaps learning what, when and how to grow in a place with rainy and dry periods. The best time to grow vegetables is November to February. I start all my seedlings in trays under clear shade clothe till they are 8 to 12 inches high, then I transplant them into raised beds that I have built up with compost and manure. The bugs and fungus in the topics will kill your garden otherwise.
