QRP - Qualified Retirement Program, is administered by the Belize Tourism Board, and is intended for retirees to 'invest' in Belize by depositing at least $2,000(US)/month in a Belize financial institution, in return for- the ability to import personal possessions up to $15,000(US) duty-free, as well as a vehicle, and/or a boat, and/or an  airplane, as well as no Belize taxation for any income generated outside of Belize. plus you can come and go as you please. There are stipulations as well, like you can't be employed in Belize.
You can obtain permanent resident status by remaining in the country for 1 continuous year, having your visa/passport stamped every 30 days. This might be a better option for you, as you can potentially obtain a work permit after that time. You can't do QRP if you can't deposit $2,000/mo in Belize.
Hope that helps, and good luck in your travels.
