Can i use my national insurance number to work in Cayman island?

ClaudioDundonian

Hi Gordon,

As I currently live and work in Scotland I was wonder if the National Insurance number that I have here can be used in order to work on the Cayman islands.

Thanks

Claudio

No. It's totally irrelevant. Your employer surely knows that!

A British holder passport would still need visa in order to legally work in the Cayman Islands. Lot's of people seem to be confused about this.

Oh, and Claudio - it occurs to me that you might not know that all employment of foreigners here (which includes British) is by indenture. Work Permits are not issued to an employee, but to his employer. I have blogged at length about this, and you should check those blogs. If you have any specific questions, ask me either here on this thread or by email.
