Bringing Meat

JoshGV143

Has anyone brought meat in a carry-on or checked luggage? I can buy a couple of prime cuts of meat at Wild Fork in the US and Im confident it will stay frozen until I get it into my freezer in the DR

You are not supposed to bring meat in your luggage.

@planner thank you. Im aware you arent supposed to do it, but the question is if anyone has pulled it off. I have a soft sided cooler bag and the flight is just shy of 2-hours. For $100 bucks I could bring some US Prime cuts for our next visit. If they take it at Customs its not a huge loss, but just inquiring if its been done

And if you get caught it can be much more than having it confiscated. You decide if it is worth the risk. Simple honey.

Add possible fines and refused entry to the list of potential losses.

Apart from that, it's as illegal as it is stupid - These rules are in place to protect local ecosystems.

@Fred Im not talking about bringing in seeds, plants or live animals. Im asking if its possible to throw a couple steaks in a cooler bag and bring them in. I have no interest in damaging the ecosystem or infringing on the local wildlife. Fish, Shrimp, Pork and Poultry sourced locally from street vendors or markets have always been great beef; not so much. Skinny cows arent tasty

Raw meat is a dangerous no no all over the world. Your lack of intention is nothing to do with much, you could do so by accident brought on by silliness.
