Speaking Catalan in Andorra

Priscilla

Hi everyone,

It is widely agreed that speaking Catalan is essential for a successful integration in Andorra. Do you agree? Share your experience!

Do you speak Catalan? If so, where did you learn this language? Where can one attend a language course in Andorra?

If not, how do you cope with daily activities? Is it easy to communicate in a different language with Andorrans?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Hi Priscilla !!

I believe that of course it is essential to know the Catalan language in Andorra, it is the only official language of that country !!

Sure you can communicate in other languages with people, even with goverment workers, but eventually, if one really wants to succeed and integrate in Andorra, sooner or later, knowing the Catalan language would be the best way to go.

And it is so available for free, on any date of start, with excellent teachers......that not making the little effort to learn it, at least for respect to the host country, it would eventually work against one.

Besides, i think Catalan is spoken widely in the Pyrenean Isthmus, outside of Andorra, which is a big plus. There are more than 9 million Catalan speakers in the world !! Not bad huh ?
