Other family members

Kendy Makere

Hi

I have two family members that I would like to join me in Belgium. I am fulltime employed. I am married to a Belgian. My kids are Belgian.

I send money etc monthly to them back home.

Please advice on financial requirements and type of visa and other useful docs. My country is not safe and the elder needs medical treatment and care.

Also can I rent them an apartment instead of them living with us ?

@Kendy Makere what do you mean by family members?

Parents ?

Kendy Makere

@Bibek4u yes those who are not immediate family

Unfortunately Belgium is not the country for that. It is pretty much impossible unless you have a single mum or dad very old and there is no other brother, sisters etc.

That is the case basically they are my dependants

Yes, then you can apply. Financial requirements are the same as for sponsoring a partner. It would be a more stronger file if they are coming to live under same roof as you for some time. Because if they are just coming to live in another address authorities might simply say to them to live where they are now.

You may rent them an apartment as soon as they have their F card.

Anyway, this is not a straightforward process and it is decided case by case basis and odds of having it approved are low.
