Sorry for posting the same issue under the topic, but I could not have a clear answer on this matter.

I am going to apply for a student visa for long stay type D, and I don't know what path should I follow with my spouse. We are going to get married next month, and I will apply right after.

In my knowledge at this moment, I assume that I will apply first for a student visa, then go to Belgium, create a bank account, have a rental contract, only then she can apply for a family reunification visa, and we will wait for her to join me. Can anyone please let me know if this is the correct way or there is another way to employ the procedure easier and reducing the time we will have seperated?

If there is someone who was in the same situation and help me with this, it will be great to have an opinion about it.

hello, on july聽 2023 I and my husband applied visa which was study and family together. My visa was approved early and my husband is still waiting. IBZ mailed my husband and it said that your application was send to the immigration office. We are still waiting but everyone tells us in our situation, firstly student has to come Belgium and find suitable house for family and register it. Afterwards spouse should apply for reunion visa. However we did not choose to do that. while we are waiting my husband visa, I found a suitable house for my family and next week I will register it. We will send it to the IBZ by stating that rental conract is registered. all in all we are still waiting the result. you should decide which way is suitable for you. but in my case we are seperate now if we applied visa individually, we would be seperate either.
