Belgian residency permit renewal

Hello Guys,

i have a question regarding the card type "A" renewal , when i came back in 2022 i got a residency permit "single permit" for 3 years , and when i renewed recently i got only 1 year extension, any idea or explanation why not 3 years same as before?

emlployer only renews the single permit. Check with them please

it's completely decision of IBZ neither employee nor employer can do or change the validity period of next SP.

No also employee can renew it.its a straight forward procedure.

If you switched into an 鈥渦nlimited鈥� work permit, the residency permit聽 for those are yearly.聽 In this case you will not need to renew your work permit, and the residency procedure is through the commune and in theory it is simpler compared to the limited single permit
