Just  a suggestion, did you explain your situation to your UK employer ? And for your information,  your 90 days will start after your last date with your current employer.

That is right in my knowledge as well  : "The Belgian legislation doesn’t provide the possibility to extend your stay in Belgium once the legal term of 90 days to find another employer in Belgium has expired" but I am not sure you can't apply tourist visa from here. Maybe you can reach out to immigration lawyer for this who can give some help on it.

Also,
Did cityhall told you under which provision/decree/rule you can still wait for 2 weeks extended period after your 90 days exhausted ?  you should ask if they can provide some document/reference.

No, city hall did not explain this very well.
Their words were:
we advise you to deregister on the final day of your legal stay in Belgium. As long as you leave Belgium within 2 weeks of deregistration, you will not face any problems.
They literally told me that once you deregister, for us you don't exist.  Furthermore, on asking them what if somebody questions my stay, then they told me to show the proof ( of tickets, visa etc) showing that you will leave on this date.

But, I am afraid that this can have consequences if I re-apply to Visa for Belgium in future.

I have the same situation as you but I lost my job last year in June.

I didn't receive any letter indicate I need to leave Belgium in 90 days if couldn't find a new employer.

Now my ID card still valid and last month I use it in the city hall get the criminal and residence certificate for applying my new single permit.

Does anyone know why like that?

@AlexFromBelgium Hello Alex, I am working and living in Belgium since May 2017. Unfortunately I lost my job in the beginning of August 2022. However I already applied for permanent residence card L in last June, since I am in Belgium uninterruptedly for 5 years. I have my Annex 16Bis document and while waiting the decision( Which said it takes 5 months max), I lost my job. Does it affect approval stage? My existence european blue card (single permit) expires in May 2023, can i go outside of Belgium and visit my family? If I come back to Belgium in October can I enter back to Belgium?  Thanks for your reply in advance, Selen

@SelenES Hello Selen, How did you find your job in Belgium? I assume you are a Turkish citizen ? and found the opportunity in 2017 and then moved to Belgium ?

If that was the case, maybe, you can suggest me a way to find a job opportunity in Belgum, because I am looking for it.

You can ask your commune if they can give you an annexe 15 which is valid 45 days. Annexe 15 is a temporary permit that you are waiting on some documents.
