I rushed to change my UK licence for a ROC one prior to BREXIT as I had read that it was mandatory, but talking to other Brit °µÍø½ûÇøs I seem to be in the minority!
It is a pain having the ROC licence when in the UK because the took away my grandfather rights to drive big camper vans. And insuring a car in the UK is also awkward.

What is the consensus? Has anyone had a problem with continued use of their UK licence here? - @pete21

If you live in Cyprus you are legally required to transfer to Cypriot license. In addition it is also a legal requirement to not have a UK license if you are not a UK resident. Many have not transferred and given the lack of police on the roads here probably never been stopped lol

NB..  The legal requirement in Cyprus is to exchange your UK driving licence within 6 months of relocating.

I totally agree with Toon. Where and how people get information sometimes beggars disbelief. Live in a country-- get their Licence. Use your UK driving licence in Cyprus at your peril and if you think there are no cops on the road think again. They now sit and put your plate in which gives them all the info they need.

I suspect it's a carry over from when UK used to be in EU when the UK licence was acceptable here until the photo on the licence expired (date at 4b) then it had to be replaced exchanged for the cyprus one..

Hi Toon, is your Pink slip still required (Biomet ID) before you can submit a licence exchange application, if this is so and your pink slip doesn't arrive for say 8 months, does that mean I would have to stop driving for two months plus the time it takes for my licence application to be approved on top of the two months?

I believe you need the biometric card, I thinks others have been through this and continued to drive

I could not exchange my UK license for 2 years as the biometric cards were not issued. It is a requirement in Paphos DOT to have the Biometric card along with all the other docs to exchange.

Do not wait for a letter or SMS telling you to collect the cards as my experience is they never arrive. I went to Paphos immigration regularly and ask for my card. I did the same with the driving license at the Paphos DOT.
