Weather - Slushy snow. It's been snowing a lot, but as the weather is getting warmer it's turning into slush. Hard to walk, might need to get waterproof shoes...or lots of spare socks

Traveling - Bus, metro and tram tickets can sometimes be purchased by sending a text message. Since it's been a while since I last visited Helsinki I can't tell you too much about that, but it's something you could ask about at the hotel.

Food - Helsinki does have many restaurants, I can't tell you too much about that tho >: You don't tip the waiters or waitresses tho, they get a steady pay.

Locals - finns are very shy. We are also many times worried about speaking english, scared of making fools out of ourselves by speaking it badly. That means we're usually very quiet to begin with. Once we see that you're not a bad person, we usually open up and talk a lot more.

If you have time, you could book a day trip to Porvoo. Porvoo is a nice old town and in the winter not many tourists go there.

Its always sub zero and so go to a store in Pune which specializes in winter clothing and buy a goose feather jacket or thick wollen jacket. Needless to say carry thermals but do not wear them when you are gonna be working somewhere indoors.

traveling
I'm not from Helsinki but I know that its easy to get a tram, bus or taxi for travel. There is also the underground metro.

,food
There are quite a few Indian and Nepalese restaurants in Helsinki. There is a good Nepali restaurant near the Kamppi super market by the name Satkar.

,interaction with local people
The locals are fine and you will have no problems getting along. But locals anywhere in the world do not find time for you after office hours since they are busy with their families etc. Most of my friends here are °µÍø½ûÇøs not necessarily Indians though.

Buy a pair of woodland shoes which have a really good soles. Its not easy walking on ice or snow. There are Indian stores in Helsinki but if you are here for long, it makes sense to bring the masalas and Dal. You can easily get rice at any super market and buy Pilsbury from one of the Indian super markets.

Hi I will be coming to helsinki in Feb 11 for some urgent work / business trip and will be having a lot of spare time is it possible to find some part time Teaching or any other Job like I am a Astrologer also But do not know wheather any one from finland may find it interesing and leat can I teach tuitions to have some extra bucks to spend there is is allowed ? and can I carry Spices?  to cook own food here I need advice for clothes? and specially I want to do some Part Time Job plz Guide? For working in Finland read this mol.fi/mol/en/02_working/index.jsp There are some special rules I'm afraid.

As for spices, it is best to ask customs about it.

February might be cold or it might be warm. We don't know yet. Best to take with you some warm clothes, just in case.
