The political scene here seems to be more like a dictatorship as there is no real way of opposing what the Chief Minister wants to do.   To answer your question perhaps some form of coup would be your quickest route to power.    The queue for a Gib card and the fact that summer hours are now in will delay any other more orthodox route to power for at least 30 years.

An extremely cheesy smile and kissing a few babies head may not be enough in that case.
