Music is said to be a universal language. Indeed it helps to discover and better understand the culture of a country.

What are the most popular music genres in Northern Ireland? How about traditional music and instruments?

Who are the local artists you would recommend?

Where can you listen to them: are there any concerts or music festival held regularly?

While I don't live in NI anymore, I can definitely recommend a few decent places for live music. The Empire usually has a decent band, Katy Daly's and the Limelight are always pretty decent too. In Cathedral Quarter head to The John Hewitt or Duke of York, or for a really cool little bar go to The Spaniard.
