Temporary residence card

kyle247365

My family and I have obtained our D7 visas and will be entering Portugal on September 1st, 2024. We have already been scheduled for an AIMA appointment to register for our residency cards. My question is regarding my partner, who needs the residency card to work for a UK company while residing in Portugal, under a Portuguese umbrella company. Does she need the physical residency card to prove her residency in Portugal, or is there a temporary document that we can obtain from our AIMA appointment that she can use in the meantime?

As far as I know, they only give you a physical residence card when your residence permit is approved. And you can receive it by post or collect it from an AIMA shop.

There are no temporary cards, there may be a written document / receipt stating that the residence application was submitted to AIMA. I don't know if that's what you're looking for...

Thank you for your response, i guess this is a tricky situation as it also depends on what the UK company deems as proof of living in Portugal.
