I had much the same issue and I gave up, however, having started the process if any town hall notifications are issued they will still try to send them through for you to access with Clave.

The only practical advice is if you can get to your local tax office with all your details, including your digital registration number and residencia/non residents card, they may be able to help.

Yes, it seems ironic that one needs to go in person to register for something that is designed to be an online service.

I went to the Apple Store and discovered that Cl@ve app is only available for the iphone and ipad and that it was developed in 2016.... 8 years ago.... "ancient history" in the cyber world.

I have a digital signature certificate and use AutoFirma and it worked just fine for my visa renewal application.  The only problem was that I submitted the application too early figuring the date of expiration was the date of the visa (Aug 1).  But now I was notified that the actual expiration date is the date of entry into Spain (Sept 28) so we will resubmit then and see what rejection errors they can come up with

We learn by trial and error as no one really explains the rules very clearly if they even explain them at all
