Queer Kissing Flashmob

JPope

As everyone surely knows the Pope is making a little journey through Barcelona tomorrow morning, from the Cathedral Square to Sagrada Familia, starting at about 9am.

As most people (who read the news) probably also know, there is a plan for a large 'Queer kissing flashmob' as a form of very peaceful protest against the ridiculous homophobia displayed and encouraged by the Catholic church in general, and this odious little man in particular.

Among lots of people that I have spoken to in the last couple of days there has been a lot of confusion about where this is going to take place and at what time, with some people thinking it is by Sagrada Familia.

As posted on the official website of the Queer Kissing Flashmob it is planned to take place on Joaquim Pou, which leads from the Cathedral Square to Via Laietana tomorrow morning.

All of the details can be found here: - some of it is in English, and Google translate does a pretty good job on the Spanish only bits.

If you are gay, go and take your partner/a friend to kiss. Even if you aren't gay, it can't hurt you to kiss someone of the same gender for a minute.

It's a fantastic peaceful way of getting a message across, and apart from that it will be a pretty unique spectacle.

You should also watch the official video (with English subtitles) here:
