I flew into PVR dozens of times, same with friends and family, never a problem . Did someone tell you it's a problem there ?

xsz123

@famouskate100 yes as it happened to me. I am looking for suggestions from other victims

I am sorry that happened to you. PVR is not known for this, but of course, luggage can be stolen anywhere. Did you actually see your luggage? If not, it's possible that it never made it to PVR. Do you have evidence it was stolen, rather than lost? If it's gone for good, I hope you were compensated, and that you didn't lose anything of great value.

I did not lose my luggage. Someone opened it and removed some of its contents.

I see. You received your luggage in PVR, with items missing? This could have happened anywhere, including the departing airport. It could also have happened at PVR, no way to know for sure. I am sorry your items are gone. You could lock your suitcase, and not have valuables in it. I have never heard of this being a problem at PVR.

I have heard of this happening. We had the carryon luggage with as all the way to the plane. It was then put into the cargo hold and came off the carousel amongst the first luggage to arrive.

I see.  I am sorry for your bad experience .

It could be any of the ground crew that puts your luggage on the plane where you left.

I used to be a flight attendant and this is a common problem at many airports.  Lock your bags and can stop that problem.  Better safe than sorry!

Sorry for your loss however.

Locking bags does not fix the theft issue. My items were stolen either at my home airport or pvr. I arrived at my home airport, picked my luggage off conveyer belt with my lock missing and the metal grommets to hold the lock broken also. I had to throw that luggage out.

I can assure you it was at your local airport as that is where it sits unattebded until time to load it.

At any destination airport the luggage train promptly arrives when it lands and the bags are rapidly taken out of the hold and promptly loaded onto the trolley to be offloaded onto the delivery carousel

I know all this as I was a flight attendant  who saw the process.

I would suggest you put your valuable into your carryon bags that are secured in the overhead bins or under your seat to prevent this from happening in the future.

Hope this helps.

I know not to have valuables in luggage. I travel often. There were no valuables in my luggage but maybe appeared to be? And I travel with basic unattractive inexpensive luggage. Just a thing that happened. My point was locks can be broken.

I’ve been very lucky to never have had lost luggage or any other incidents except this one.
