Hi again,  once again, if you are planning to move permanently to Mexico you should talk to the Mexican consulate near you home, also talk to Revenue Canada on the criterias to become a non resident of Canada.

I hope this reply is not too late to help. I recently moved to Playa del Carmen from CA and had many personal things shipped via UPS. Customs sent it back because paperwork was missing or filled out incorrectly. I am now having it reshipped and I’m paying much more than I paid initially.

I used Bike Flights to ship my bike and had no problems. I recommend using them, as I understand that Bike Flights can be used for shipping other personal things too.

Thanks for information on Bike Flights.  I'm also from Canada and we are moving to Playa.  However I was told by people in the forum to leave everything behind because of the logistics at the border.

For the most part, I think that advice is good. However, there are clothes and other personal things you may want to send by courier.
