Moving to Papua New Guinea with kids

Priscilla

Hi,

Moving abroad is an adventure for both parents and children: settling overseas is a challenge for each family member.

How was the move to Papua New Guinea for your kids?

How did they manage to adapt to their new environment?

Share with us your experience and advice on settling in Papua New Guinea with children.

Thank you in advance,

Priscilla

Hi Priscilla,

We moved here with 2 young kids (1 & 2 at the time) and we found they adapted quite well. There is a great °µÍø½ûÇø family community which connect through a Facebook page (POM Parents Group) and there's 2 events each week. For older kids, I'm told that The Ela Murray International School is the pick of the schools and is on par with Australian standards up until around grade 4-6.

There are a few clubs that have play areas however there aren't any local parks etc to venture out. Most people live in compounds and you can easily find large compounds that have room for kids to get out and about and rides bikes/kick a ball.

Hope that helps..
