Hi, not yet, I think this forum is not very active. I have been looking and I think the lawyers services are really expensive and random. One of the will ask you or 2.5 millions PLUS all the dues to the government, another 3.5 millions... I think I am going to apply myself.

I just have basic questions as to the requirements.

I have an english contract of employment BUT a letter of employment of the same company, signed and stamped, in Spanish. As far as I know, the letter is enough. If I submit the english contract, they might want it translated.

I have an english letter of my Insurance Company. They are specializing in nomads, and they told me never had anyone asked them for a translated and aspostille version of it.

So, my questions are:

Will the governement accept my spanish letter of work, without apostille?

Will it accept the english letter of insurance (they dont actually ask for it, just for the insurance, right?)?

I do have the certificate of antecedentes penales with apostille, in my country you apply for it online and get it in 5m with apostille for 3.5 euros.

Let me know how you fare. What your thoughts are and questions?

@ccebhei This forum is VERY active. In fact, sometimes TOO active 馃槀 But in some cases, depending on topic, it might be such a repetitive topic that people don't bother answering directly anymore, and expect the poster to search for old messages.

This is one such topic, I believe.

But I have 5 minutes to spare, so I'll chime in. I highly recomend Nexo Legal. I've used them twice. Ask for Tomas, and tell him that Chinedu Opara from Barranquilla sent you. They'll make sure your application is structured in a way that has the BEST CHANCE of success.

I am applying for my 2nd Digital Nomad visa by myself... with all the requests and risk of rejection and I getting now, I kinda regret not going with Nexo Legal again (I was trying to save money).

Anyway, to answer your questions directly:

Your letter of employment sounds fine. Your contract should also be translate to Spanish. And make sure you get BOTH of them apostilled.

If you have to choose 1 document (because they only require one, honestly), the Contract would be best... it should show your start date, salary, and the fact that you're allowed to work remotely. Get it apostilled and translated. I recommend IntegrAmerica.org... I've used them twice and their rates are slightly less than most other places.

The health insurance doesn't have to be translated, but the policy should be for 1 year (or if you can, 2 years). If you can get it translated, fine, but that's not necessary. I do recommend you open the PDF and highlight the coverage dates and section that confirms that it includes repatriation of remains.

Also - and this is a HUGE one if you're from the USA - have you gotten your FBI Report? If not, they'll likely ask for it, so you might as well get that started ASAP! It has to be requested, retrieved, apostilled (it must be a FEDERAL apostille, from Washington DC), AND translated. This process will take about 5 weeks, so plan accordingly. And if you have anything on your FBI record, you have to provide 2 special additional letters (both notarized). DM me if you want to know more about this new requirement - a requirement triggered by the idiot s暗网禁区s, traffickers, illegal-drug-seekers, and criminals from North America and Europe 馃槨

I wasted so much money and time on this requirement... but YOU don't have to.

@ChineduOpara Hi there and thanks so much! Well, no, I have no business with the FBI but also I am not from the US. I think my certificado de antecedentes penales is the equivalent, in Spain it麓s easy to apply and get, of course if you do not have such criminal activity or some other infringment of the Laws.

I will check these services you are recommending me. I thought my application was straightforward and just a matter of burocracy, in order to have a regulated stay ...

Langon Law is way less than what you quoted and very competent

The visa and legal services in Medellin are all competitive and similarly priced..around $300 US or 1.2 million聽 pesos for their service f I remember correct..but not much more

@ccebheiyou eed to apostille EVERY foreign document and have it translated by an official Colombian governmennt translator if it is not in Spanish

@ChineduOpara is the FBI report required for a visitors Visa? we want to stay 2 years鈥� is it required if we stay six months and then go six months to another country I guess we just don鈥檛 know so or I should say we don鈥檛 know what we don鈥檛 know so that鈥檚 why this forum is so helpful聽 I鈥檝e been trying to figure it out?

@ChineduOpara Hi, I checked the pricing of the translators agency. Well if you need them again, I could give you an agency with much better fees. I am waiting to see what Thomas tells me about the visa fees but I am inclined, having seen the fees of others, of going at it solo.. I will keep you udpated!

I spoke to a translators agency, they would do it, and I checked the government online site and since some years if you translate a document in Colombia, you dont need it apostilled - the translators name being enough, of course, if its an official agency or translator.. what you do need is to apostille the original documents and thats where I am at a loss.. I dont know how to do it, could you maybe advise me to how to do so? I am originally from Spain but, my employer (european) is in Turkey and my insurance is HQ in Puerto Rico (US).

So I have a contract of employment, and employment letter and a insurance coverage letter from the Insurance company... I think these need to be translated and apostilled... not so my ID and passport, right?

In your case, I dont know . Maybe your employer will apostille for you in Turkey

You coud try without an apostille and a note explaining to the Cancilleria

Or contact a Turkish agency to do it for you remotely. I am sure they exist

Dont think you have to have the insurance certificate apostillled聽 just police reports and letter of employment or source of income.

I got my insurance that met the Canciller铆as requirements in Colombia, per Chins contact I believe

And I am not say that.ATM are a good medical service.I have other medical service..Medicina Prepagada..but it serves the purpose for getting a visa for myself and another person on here as it meets the written requirements of the Cancilleria聽 and is relatively cheap.
