Internet - Sorry if this is a well worn question by wrightkarl
As part of the process of working out how we're going to relocate, I need to consider being able to continue working on line.Outside of the major towns and cities, what's internet speed and reliability like ? I know it's a big question with many ...

@neil76medley "that little more"? Starlink's standard residential service costs 100 leva a month, I believe, and delivers speeds between 50 and 200Mbps. Normal ISPs charge around 12 leva a month for the first year or so, rising to around 20 leva ... Read More

Large crack running by Kath948381
Down the side of our outside stairs in a typical Bulgarian village house. The tiles on the steps have been damaged as well. How do I get it repaired and the whole steps retired? Water damage in the past I think

Are you quite sure it isn't caused by settlement/subsidence? Just patching and re-tiling it might just make for more work in the future.. Read More

@cyberescue1 I'm not sure what "political arson" is, but I'm all in favour of politicians self-immolating - and happy to lend them a hand!"Accidentally" setting fire to forests has been a typical Balkan tradition for generations - once it's gone, ... Read More

Is this just a summer thing because of the heat? I've never seen or had a problem with them in the winter

@janemulberry Many Bulgarians, especially the country-dwellers, subscribe to Balkan Snake Fantasy, ie "all snakes are venomous", and like to kill them on sight; the same is true in Greece and other parts. You'll even catch the beggars pounding slow ... Read More

Recommendations for Banks in Bulgaria (EU Citizen) by sfriggieri75
Hi everyone. Can anyone please share which bank is best for opening an account as an EU citizen in Bulgaria, and what documents are required? ðŸ™

We use DSK, and we've been happy with them for years; I'm aware that other people apparently haven't had such a good experience - I don't know if that's down to language problems, too high expectations or some other factor(s).. Read More
