Very difficult for a non Egyptian to get Egyptian Citizenship...

I am an Irish man married to Egyptian for 10 years and she got Irish citizenship after 3 years married and resident in Ireland.

I would find it very difficult to get Egyptian citizenship...

First would need a good knowledge of Arabic, written and spoke.

Live there for about 10 years ... and financially sound and healthy and then not certain.

A little easier if you are a foreign woman married to an Egyptian and mother to Egyptian children.

If you are very wealthy and have considerable business interests in Egypt, live there and a good knowledge of Arabic it is possible but still not easy.

This give a fair summary of the requirements and processes.

@Misterbig_Ireland  Assalamualaikum Brother, Thank you for that information. I also read their Constitution. I was Married to Egyptian man for 7 yrs but we divorced. We are still very close friends here in the U.S. but we lived together in Egypt for about 2 yrs after we Married there. I think it would good enough for me to just have residency there when I move back. Thank you again,

@Misterbig_Ireland  Egyptians are looking forward to escape from Egypt to Europe, Australia & America, and you are from Europe and looking to reside and live in Egypt !! 1f601.svg

My advice is, Egyptian citizenship is a big zero and not an added value at all !! 🙂

You should be happy that you can't get it. 1f609.svg

Hi Wael

I am not looking to get Egyptian citizenship but checked out the process and procedure and it is very difficult if not impossible for me. But I can with a little effort get longer term residency which in a couple years will suit fine.

Egypt is a great country but like most countries it is great if you have money 💰 1f609.svg

If you have a good income from another country particularly in Euro or Dollars you can live very well. Particularly if you have an Egyptian wife like I have who can manage my way through the culture and not taken advantage of.

Egypt has many problems and it will take the next 25 years to make inroads into them but it has advantages too particularly a young population which if educated will make it a very rich country. Egypt reminds me of Ireland 40 years ago, poor and raising its children for immigration. Now it is the 6th riches country in the world and done this primarily by providing good and free education for all it people.
